How to Play

Objective

Get a hand total closer to 21 than the dealer without going over. Number cards count face value, face cards count 10, and aces count 1 or 11, whichever is better.

Table Rules

  • Six-deck shoe, reshuffled when about a quarter of the cards remain
  • Blackjack (an ace and a ten-value card on the first two cards) pays 3:2
  • Dealer stands on all 17s, including soft 17
  • Double down on any first two cards; doubling after a split is allowed
  • Split any pair of equal-value cards once; split aces receive one card each
  • The dealer peeks for blackjack when showing an ace or a ten

Your Actions

  • Hit: take another card
  • Stand: keep your total and end your turn
  • Double: double your bet, take exactly one more card
  • Split: turn a pair into two separate hands, each with its own bet
  • Hint: shows the basic-strategy play for your hand against the dealer's upcard

Controls

  • Space or N — Deal (repeats your last bet if none is placed)
  • H — Hit, S — Stand
  • D — Double, P — Split
  • M — Mute / unmute sounds

Tips

  • Always split aces and eights; never split tens or fives
  • Double on 11, and on 10 unless the dealer shows a ten or ace
  • Stand on hard 12–16 only when the dealer shows a 2–6 bust card
  • The Hint button follows the full basic-strategy chart; playing it perfectly keeps the house edge near 0.5%
